Job Description | The Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Mining Engineering at the assistant professor level beginning July 2014. Instructional excellence, an active externally funded research program, and quality publications in peer-reviewed journals are expected. The faculty member can expect to teach both undergraduate and graduate level mining engineering courses and to mentor the research programs of Master’s and PhD candidates; start-up package provided. Applications should be received by 11/4/2013 to ensure full consideration. |
Required Qualifications | Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Mining Engineering or a related field. |
Preferred Qualifications | Candidates with postdoctoral, academic and/or industry experience beyond the doctorate are preferred. Research interests in mine lifecycle, mine safety and health, mine/community/environmental sustainability, mine economics, and mineral resource estimation are preferred, although candidates in all areas of research will be considered. |
